BruceGames.Com League Rules (all games)
- Schedules will be posted Saturday Noon (ET). You will have 8 1/2 days to play your matches (until the next Sunday evening midnight).
- Vacations: I understand that people aren't around every week to play their matches. IF you tell me IN ADVANCE when you are going to be absent from being able to play, I will notify you of your matches during your period of vacation. You MAY play your matches early, however, they CANNOT be posted until the week they are scheduled. You will need your opponent to post your matches when they would ordnarily come due.
- League play will last 8 weeks. Everybody will play everybody else (round robin) once. This will conclude one league season. We will schedule 2 matches per week. The 8th week will have 1 match. *NEW* The next season will start IMMEDIATELY after the old one closes.
- There are a maximum of 8 leagues, and 16 members per league. You may NOT join more than one league, in the same cluster; however, you MAY join multiple leagues. For example, you may join the Zone Backgammon AND the GamesGrid Backgammon Leagues, but you may NOT join 2 Zone Backgammon Leagues. Sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a league season starts, I will not add new players.
- In the event of a tie in the standings, tiebreakers are (a) total number of points won in all matches; (b) least number of points lost in all matches.
- Play the matches in ANY ORDER, just play the matches in the period assigned.
- Report matches thru the web site (www.brucegames.com/logon.htm)), and use the "Match Information" button, which at the bottom, has a POST RESULTS button.
- All correspondence will be via e-mail. The official e-mail address for the League is gammon@ns.net.
- By joining, you agree that your e-mail address will be accessible (via a mailto: link). This is critical for others to be able to communicate with you. ICQ is completely optional, however, if you have it, that information WILL be noted in your Profile & Match Information.
- In the event that match(s) are not contested, a loss for both players will be assigned. You may request a forfeit for an unplayed match, by using the "Forfeit Request" on the "Match Information" page. If you are the only player to request the forfeit, you will be awarded a win. If BOTH players request a forfeit, both players will receive a loss. Mutual forfeits MAY be appealed; factors that are important is an indication at the website that email has been sent (again, on the "Match Information" page, is a button to indicate email was sent). It's possible I will request copies of emails. ONLY send these upon request.
- New leagues will be created randomly from members from last season, plus new signups.
- At the end of the regular season, there will be a single-elimination "League Championship Tournament", to crown an overall winner for the league. Matchups will be posted promptly following the last moment that matches may be reported. All matchups are viewable on the web-page. The TOC (playoffs) will be managed through the BruceGames.Com Tourneys page.
- The League Tournament will be composed of the 16 top players. The leader in each league is guranteed entry. The remaining slots will be filled by those with most wins, and ties of wins will go to those with the least losses, from there normal tie-breakers apply.
- Even though all decisions made by me are final, I will make every attempt to be fair. I want this to be a LOT OF FUN for everybody involved.
- Removal From League (forfeits): You will be removed from the current season, and required to sit out a season, if you have 4 or more forfeits AGAINST you in any league season. When you've reached 4 forfeits, unless you proactively get in touch with the League Administrator, your removal will become automatic. You may have to sit out a season, but this may be appealed to the League Administrator.
- Removal From League (abuse): No form of abuse, either express or implied, by any player, either against a league administrator, OR another player will be tolerated. Generally, warnings will come before bans, but I reserve the right to take whatever action I feel is necessary.
- I just want this to be a FUN place; anything you can do to enhance the fun is very much appreciated. If you have suggstions, always feel free to make them. Many of the things I've done here have come as a direct result from some of the excellent feedback I've received from players.
